Nice work. I had a couple nagging problems early in my 8th year that forced me to do the same, but got through them and was able to get back to some longer distances as it went on, including a half marathon where I had an ~8 minute PR.

I'm on my feet 50-60+ hours a week in the kitchen and my legs feel made of lead most days. My canine running partner also can't take much heat which limits miles once the weather gets hot. Congrats on the PR!

Either that, or it could just be idiotic?

That is quite the consistency.  Keep it up!

Hey Brad - great to see you still at it. I have been a member since 2012 and although I have never done my own running streak I followed this one very closely. I am inspired now to start my own streak. I usually run 4-5 days a week about 30 mpw, but I am going to start running every day in honor of our cat Manny (pictured on my profile) who passed away yesterday after 15 wonderful years. I wanted to do something to signify, if only to myself, how special he was to us and how much we will miss him. What better way than to start a steak, which I have never done during the 10 years I have been running? I don't know how long it will last. I was thinking maybe 15 weeks - one week for each year he was with us. But we shall see! Thank you for being an inspiration that, long term, this is possible.

I have been motivated to do this as well. I was up to 8 days on Saturday and then I had to help my son move and my back was out of wack a bit and I lost my streak.. I am looking at trying again tomorrow. I dont know if I will get 8-1/2 years or not(that is just and incredible achievement!!!, but we will start and see what I can get.

Maybe we can motivate each other Caroleena!!

Good morning! Day #10 today - done! Daily mileage has been between 4 and 5 miles; and one long run of 6 miles. During the winter I usually top out at 6 or so due to the cold - I like to limit my outdoor exposure to under an hour if the temps are in the teens or twenties, which is the majority of the winter where I live.

The longest streak I've done previous to this is 4 days, so I am pretty psyched. I always thought my body would break down after a week of straight running, but so far so good.

Hope your run goes well today, Chris!

Well day one is in the books with a 3.5 mile easy run today. Back is still sore but not unbearable.

Congrats on your day #10. Hopefully I will be there in 9 more days. LOL!!

Maybe we can get a couple more people to start this again.

Also you should join the 1000 miles in 2022 challenge. I am in that as well and would love to see a few more people in there as well!!

Carol - very sorry to read about your cat. They are family, there is no doubt. Great way to honor him.

Welcome to the madness to you and Chris. I can't say whether I actually recommend it or not...but I am still going. Today was #3126 for 4 tempo miles.

I'm averaging well over 4 miles per day so far this year: 136 in January, 88 so far in February.

I joined the SRI a few years ago. I'm currently #519 on the list.

Definitely, some of those streaks are insane!

I am pretty committed to getting to 10 years at this point, if possible. At that point, will reevaluate and see how I want to go forward. It is hard to imagine not doing it at this point. It is just part of my day. Sometimes I stress about how/when I will fit it in, like having to run at 12:01AM or similar, or literally planning other chores around it as well. Most of the time it isn't a big deal, but it can get tricky whenever I travel.

Thats really cool Brad. I will have to keep watching and see how you progress on the list. You have to wonder how honest people are on there. I would hope everyone is!! How often do they update it, or how do you update your streak? I need to look into it and see how all of it works. I have a long way to go though just to register for it. It would be neat to try and get on it though.

Well I finished day 8 today with an easy 3 mile run. 3 miles is my shortest run. Legs were tired today so I took it easy to recover a little.

Caroleena, I hope you are still going!!

Good morning! Still at it. Today was day 18 for me and I just finished 8 miles with some Wednesday running buds of mine, Much easier for me to do long runs with other people to distract me, although most of my running is done solo. It is hard to find people who run the same pace I do. The friends I see on Wednesdays are more advanced - thus faster - than I am. I consider them "real runners" which I don't always think of myself as one, even though I have been running 10 years now and have maintained 25-30 miles weekly for the past few years. But they are a different animal - they both have done marathons and ultras whereas I like my sprint tris and 10Ks.

Been having a little soreness in the right hip when I start my run. It goes away after a mile or so. I might cut back the next few days on my mileage to 2 or 3 instead of 4 or 5. Hopefully that helps. I want to make it to at least 30 days with this streak.

Just finished day #10 for me. I have never run 10 days straight before. I feel good. 3 miles has been my shortest run. I have been keeping it there this week due to nursing a twinge in my knee. Been getting better though and is almost gone. I started this year with a goal of 1000 miles for the year. I have always fallen way short and really wanted to try it this year. I feel like I will have no trouble at all reaching it this year, and I plan to continue this streak as long as I can.

14 Days today. Never used to think I would ever be able to run this many days in a row. Its weird how they do get easier as you go on.

This morning was day 25. Have 30 days straight in sight now! The hip soreness is mostly gone. This past week I have run between 4.5 and 6 miles, except for one day when I only ran 2 (and walked 2). It hasn't been difficult for me to keep up the daily practice, and it's been an enjoyable experience - - although I do miss having one day weekly where I take time off from running to kind of "reset" both physically and psychologically. But I can definitely see how people get hooked on maintaining this kind of streak.

Just finished day 18 with a Z2 paced 3 miles. My total miles for the streak are at 59.25. My Z2 MPH is increasing which is positive. I am really liking this running everyday and I am already hooked at only 18 days.

I actually started reading this post from the very beginning. Brad, I am just to point where you are about to get back at it after your injury which would be the start of your current streak.

I so wish this site was as active as it was back in the day. Would be great having more people in here posting like it was then.
