Subject: Any 4Runner Owners?
I test drove a 2010 4Runner Limited this afternoon. All I have to say is… NICE!!It was quite a step up from my '98 Jeep Cherokee Sport. I'm not quite ready to buy, as the Jeep is still running. But my niece's 16th birthday is in June, and I'd love to surprise her with the Jeep. Anyone have real world opinions to owning/driving a 4Runner??-Joel

We have a 2012 Highlander and absolutely LOF it! The difference is that the 4Runner has the SUV chassis and the Highlander has the automobile chassis. Highlander gets just a tad bit more mpg, but not much. 4Runner has a little more power. Highlander costs slighly less than the 4Runner. Either way, other than cost and gas mileage, you can't go wrong. Very good vehicles for longevity.

I have owned three 4Runners. I had a 1994, 2001 and now a 2010. I LOVE these vehicles. They are now wider and more comfortable after 2005 changes were made to the body design. They run great and will last forever. You can't go wrong with the 4Runner. Great milage and roomy.

Resale out the roof to. Toyotas hold their value.

I drive a brand new 2012 Toyota Tacoma and love it.  It's a pickup on the same chassis. Definitely recommend it.

Additionally, my wife drives an 07 Sequoia that has never had a major mechanical.

Toyotas are awesome.

I drive a Tundra and my wife a Sequoia.  Best 2 vehicles we have ever owned.  We'll be a Toyota family for a long time.

I had a '99 for many years and it was perfect - now a Tundra and just as pleased.

I have an 08 I bought a few years ago at the auto auction. I love it! It's the base model and reminds me lot of my well loved jeep Cherokee. I had a suby in between and just never loved it. I love my 4Runner. DH wanted to buy me a new car for Christmas last year and I told him he would have to wait til it finally died in a heap like my jeep eventually did. Such a fun car. Then again I only drive a few miles a day so gas isn't a big concern for me. It's really fun off road especially in the snow.

I have an '07 and it's done real well for us.  A little over 70k on it now.

The brand new ones I have to say are butt ugly though.  They did something with the body style and the taillights that just looks stupid, in my opinion.  I'd gladly purchase another 4-runner when we get tired of our current one, but not until the body style changes again away from what they just came out with.

LOVED my 4Runner.  I had a 2000, sold it this year for a Sequoia, sold the 4Runner for OVER blue book, NADA and Edmunds value.  I called it my "baby."  Amazing vehicle IMO.

I actually like the new ones better. They're a bit boxier than before... and that reminds me of my Cherokee. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Just bought a 2012 on Friday.  I traded in a 2007 Tacoma and even though there are on the same frame they are not close in feeling the same.  Love it.

I own a 2003 4runner with 96k on it. I love it, I switched from a 1999 jeep grand cherokee last summer.

I took my wife with me today to have her test drive it. She ended up liking it quite a bit.

We also tried putting the dog beds in the back and making sure there was still enough room for a car seat (to be needed someday within the next year, hopefully). They fit great... and the lowering back window was a HUGE plus. Our dogs would love watching the traffic from a 1/2 lowered window.

Oh... and there's room for bikes and gear, too.

Awesome! Just make sure you read you owner's manual when it comes time to put the car seat in. At least in the 08s there is a weird thing I think it's if you use latch in the middle you can't use the passenger seat behind the driver. Don't quote me, just check the manual. Mine has been great with a huge rear facing toddler seat in it (safest is to keep them rear facing as long as you can.)
