First IM Length Swim today!!!

With only 141 days until IM Florida, I somewhat unexpectedly did my first IM length (2.4 miles-4240 yards) straight swim today. Yesterday was a mess. Forgot my to bring my T-Shirt to work, so at lunch no run, and just felt lazy in PM so I took a day off (It is my fallback week so I figured it was OK). But today I'm feeling a bit guilty about that. CWS day off so went to the Y at 10:30. Fairly empty. Well my 40 minute swim grew to 3000 yards, then 1:05 (get an even 5 hour for the week), then I'm doing the math in my head I realize I could do an IM length swim if I go another 1000. I was feeling good, and the whole time I'm doing my normal long smooth stroke working on staying flat and swimming downhill, so I kept going. Did it ,felt great and not too tired (although my foot threaten a cramp around 4000 yards.) No time for my first 50. The 500's from there were 9:07, 9:21, 9:23, 9:22, 9:24, 9:35, 9:37, and 9:29, with last 250 in 4:48. 4250 yards in 1:20:10. IM swim-Check. Now I can say there are no unknowns as I've covered all the distances. Now I just got to put all three together......back to back........ in under 17 hours.
