Overcast
Total Time = 1h 40m 4s
Overall Rank = 480/681
Age Group = F 30-34
Age Group Rank = 14/26
Pre-race routine:

Ate spaghetti with a meatball, plus a slice of bread. Headed to the race, parked, tried out my new rear tire (which I bought last minute at REI since I discovered a crack in the tire during last night's inspection) walked to transition, set up, walked to start, discovered the bathrooms locked, walked another 1/4 mile down the beach to some (thankfully) unlocked bathrooms. Walked back a bit, put suit on, warmup in water 2 minutes, rush back to start with about 6 minutes to spare for my wave start.
Event warmup:

Went into the water for a bit so do a couple of strokes. Didn't really have much time left after my frantic search for a bathroom XD
Swim
  • 23m 12s
  • 880 yards
  • 02m 38s / 100 yards
Comments:

I underestimated the current and got swept past the first buoy and had to backtrack a bit to get around the first buoy. The fog lifted for a bit but then settled back in so I think I swam out too far, but that kept me away from the other swimmers so I didn't get much interference during the swim. At one point one lifeguard pointed out I swam off course (outside too far).
What would you do differently?:

Pay attention to the waves before me to watch the currents go instead of zoning out XD
Transition 1
  • 04m 12s
Comments:

I have a lot of work to do on transitions. It wasn't a disaster, but I took quite longer than I wanted to AND I forgot my gloves, to eat, and drink properly.
What would you do differently?:

Practice transition.
Bike
  • 42m 51s
  • 11 miles
  • 15.40 mile/hr
Comments:

It was wet, and some guy right behind me crashed in the first loop and that freaked me out for a bit.
What would you do differently?:

More hills practice.
Transition 2
  • 02m 48s
Comments:

I need faster transitions. I fidgeted with my sunglasses for a bit before deciding I don't need them afterall. I took my bike shoes off at the beginning of the transition to better run with my bike. Forgot to feed and drink water AGAIN.
Run
  • 27m 3s
  • 3 miles
  • 09m 01s  min/mile
Comments:

Running is the stronger of my three sports, and despite being off for a bit due to my foot acting up again, I had a strong run.
Post race
Warm down:

None.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weak cycle, forgetting plans when I'm in the transition area.

Event comments:

For the love of god, unlock the beach bathrooms for at least the start line!
