jmk-brooklyn - 2012-11-20 10:56 PM I'll be starting in a week or two. One question: are the Insanity workouts the only working out/training you're doing? Are you keeping up with any S/B/R as well?

Being that it's the off season, I am doing insanity in the early morning, then after I drop my kids off at school I go and do my SBR workout.  So it could be a 10 mile easy run (or shorter speed workout), 1 hour spin class, or 1 hour swim session...  It was hard for the first week or two, then my muscles adapted.

I've done Insanity(3X) , Asylum, and plan to do Asylum 2 but I broke my foot in an unrelated accident.   I love Shaun T and became a BB coach 2 yrs. ago because of this workout and P90X.  Great for the triathlon off season "mental break"!

I did Insanity last Winter and had my best season in 2012.... it's a kick butt workout and so fun, too!

I s/b/r will doing it.  I also "taught" (encouraged) it in a huge class 2X (25+) students through our local rec center while training.  PM me or ask here if you have any questions on how to integrate it with tri training.

Just started back on Insanity after not doing it for 10 months. I am impressed with my fit test results. First number is today, second is 10mths ago when I did Insanity after getting back from Afghanistan.

Switch Kicks 120 - 115
Power Jacks 47 - 40
Power Knees 81 - 70
Power Jumps 22 - 17
Globe Jumps 10 - 7
Suicide Jumps 15 - 13
Push-up Jacks 25 - 20
Planks Obliques 49 - 41

All i have been doing has been triathlon training and Army PT which I almost consider active recovery. I am impressed, and still plan to do 1 tri workout a day in addition.

I did insanity and loved it.  I saw awesome results.  It will kick your butt!

Anyone who has done both want to comment on the original Insanity vs. Asylum?

I did Asylum and loved it! Loved Shaun T's motivation. Doing that was what gave me the confidence that I could actually run 3 miles: "If I can do this for 55 minutes, then of course I can run 3 miles!" I liked the integration of strength and cardio. It kicked my and got me ready for triathlon training (my first one).

Very well-designed program, as is most anything from Tony Horton.

Tomorrow is my last day.  Seems fitting, since the world is going to end and all...

lol! luckily the world has not ended yet! and so hasn't my insanity workout. I've been doing for 2 weeks now and already feeling better about my body. it definitely needs way to much determination and will power. I need a stronger mind than my body. I've lost 3 pounds. And i definitely feel stronger also! but may be a gym will get you much stronger than insanity workout.

DONE!!!! I can tell a big difference in my back muscles and abs/obliques, also inner thigh.  This program was great for hitting all the parts I miss by strictly SBR.

Phew!  And, as an added bonus, the world didn't end!

I'm a bum. I've been working out at the local gym, I've got the Insanity pack and the P90X... Still haven't watched them.. Perhaps I should since they were free.....

Thanks for all of the "good poop" all....
