GaryRM - 2012-09-20 6:17 PM Speedo Endurance jammers.  Bought them in early 2010 and just today discovered a small hole.  Only paid $22 for them but they have lasted longer than any other pair.  Actually I was beginning to hope they would fail so I could try something different.  That said I think I may just get another pair in a different color.

small hole? just grab a couple of patches from your bike and you are good to go for another couple of years! Laughing

My first attempt to use a bike patch failed as the patch was bright red and my wife felt that it did not look appropriate (I am paraphrasing here to protect the innocent, not a mental image you want to have).

Last year, all the stores in my area seemed to be carrying the Speedo Endurance Jammers.  They were great, and lasted all year.

This year, they have gone back to carrying the racing series which only seem to last about 3-4 months.  Grrrr

Maybe I need to take a look on the web.

Sorry about the hijack but I'm looking to purchase the endurance jammers online (never had them before) and the sizes are by waist size...

Should I deduct an inch or two from my pants waist size or do I need to measure my waist and order that exact measurement?

Wondering what others have done when picking up jammers, are they true to waist size, do you buy bigger or smaller than your waist measurement/pant size etc?

Thanks

I have both speedo and Tyr jammers and both are the same waist as pants I have that I can wear without a belt.

I'm typically between a 34 and 36 in most pants..in fact if they made 35's that would probably be perfect....The 36 is not falling off me by any means so would you go with a 34 or a 36?

Go with the 34's or go try on a pair at a Sports shop and see.  I have a pair of TYR Jammers that I swim in 4 times per week in a cholinated pool and centrifuge spin dry them everytime too.  No sign of holes or material wearing thin and I got them last november.

I bought my Speedo Endurance Square Leg suitback in 2009 and have swam A LOT...man, at least 400 miles in severely chlorinated water.  The back butt crack seam split.   I will say that I was pushing the boundaries on the size they were originally far so I bet they would have lasted me longer if I didn't fatten up on the off season and last years injury ridden season.

I've been making due in a old tri short but I plan on buying the same exact suit again.  Was amazed at how it held up.

Stop buying lycra or spandex suits and buy a polyester one like the Speedo Endurance mentioned above.  They last for years and it's usually the stitching that lets go before the material of the suit itself.

I have never given much thought as to the longevity of shorts and why mine never last long. And now I have my answer. For that, I thank you!

I never knew there a was a difference either. I usually go through two pairs a season. I have to check them often because mine always wear at the seem that goes down the middle of your butt. The fabric becomes almost see through and I don't want to be "that guy" at the gym

taylorz13 - 2012-09-20 8:52 PM My speedos endurance still going strong after 6 months. No end in sight. Every swim I put themin the little swim centrifuge spinner dryer, so you know they have to be tough.

I am a 32/33 waist and went with 34s.  They are fine.  They have started to come down a little when I dive in....(I am not diving...I am swimming) but prefer that over squeezing as much fat as possible over the sides of them and looking like a pear.
