As long as it was a quality race hell yes I would do it.  I don't understand why people are haters when it comes to Livestrong as a brand.  They have helped 10's of thousands of people get through cancer treatments and what not.

Yeah I mean as long as it wasn't 5k miles away or something I would do it though.  Especially since I know a lot of proceeds are going to help out people who are suffering.  I have no problem suffering for a few hours to help them cope with what they are going through.

Let's see, well if it was comparable to other events and Livestrong would be benefiting cancer then heck yeah I would.  Why wouldn't you race in something that helps as many people as Livestrong does.  Granted most of our 5k's around here are benefits anyway, but I see no reason why I wouldn't sign up for it all things equal.  Now if they were charging a lot more and nothing really different, then the answered would be no.

After reading the interview... "Endurance-related events"... In addition to my earlier answer, I add this caveat: Depends on WHAT kind of event that would be.

I wouldn't skip it because of Livestrong, and I wouldn't do it just because of Livestrong.

I would treat it just like any other race; if the timing, location and cost is right I would enter the race.

It depends on if they do pre-race drug testing.  If not, I'm in.

Sure why not... but it would figure into my overall schedule just like any other race, so I guess that I wouldn't clamor to it, nor would I NOT do it simply based on Lance's involvement.

Panda_Jack - 2012-09-25 6:51 PM Sure why not?  If it's convenient and the price is right I would definitely consider it.

ktsdad - 2012-09-25 10:38 PM As long as I don't have to wear one of those yellow bracelets.  They clash with my blue and pink wetsuit...

Man, you should embrace the sherbet kit. It's got legs...

To the original question, of course.

I wouldn't avoid Lance to punish him for the past, whatever it is. I'm actually more inclined to race Livestrong, as it's supporting his current mission, which I do care about.

PS. Don't care even a little bit about USAT sanctioning OR drug testing for AG'ers. If it's supported, insured, and a good race, I'm all in.
