Subject: Livestrong Race Series - would you race?

Published on triathlete mag's website today in connection with an interview with LA re the Superfrog HIM he's doing this weekend:

"Lastly, there has been considerable interest in a separate “stand alone” series of endurance related events benefiting LIVESTRONG so this is something we are actively exploring. Stay tuned."

Of course, say it's a weekend of sprints and Olys and maybe even a half.  If convenient to you, would you?

Depends on what they hand out at the aid stations.

I was saying this weekend to some fellow triathletes that I would love to see Livestrong do a Triathlon with the top ten ranked males and females along with Lance and have the winner take $100k.  I think it would make for great television and it is the only way we will find out if Lance can compete with the top of the profession.

Sure why not?  If it's convenient and the price is right I would definitely consider it.

I got the opportunity to race with LA at Honu.  It was pretty cool to see his bike and see him in person.  But now that I got that out of my system, I don't think these races would draw me anymore than any other race.  I have nothing for or against LA or Livestrong.  If they put on a quality event that interests me, I'd do it.  But I wouldn't spend more money or go out of my way.

If the location, price, timing, support, and venue are good, then yes. Just like any race.

x whatever on the issue of it being a quality race.

All I really care about is a decent race venue, organization and some cookies at the end.

Seeing Lance would be interesting, but I rather race with Macca and Chrissie.

Sure, so long as it isn't trying to compete with TriRock or WTC for most-overpriced event ever.

As long as I don't have to wear one of those yellow bracelets.  They clash with my blue and pink wetsuit...

I agree with most of the other posts. If the time, PRICE, and distance are in my plan I would. It matters not who has the race but more about how it fits for me and they way the event is run

If it was local I would do it. Not a big Lance fan but lost my Dad to cancer and respect what he has done with Livestrong.
