Subject: Really disappointed, first triathlon canceled due to weather

Well, I am totally bummed out right now. My triathlon was canceled due to the weather. We got there and it was overcast and then it started to drizzle. We all got ready anyway. I got to rack my bike, set up my transition, got body marked, got my chip timing belt on my ankle, even got into the pool for a warmup swim. Then it started to really come down. Then it started to thunder and lightning. Long story short, they called the race. No more races scheduled locally for me. I'm really disappointed. Everything is soaking wet, including me and my spirits.

Well, I'm off to get some good coffee and enjoy the day anyway.

Wow...that is frustrating. You will just be all the more prepared and excited for your first tri. Keep on training. Maybe that coffee will warm you up. You put it in great context: "enjoy the day anyway."!

Bummer. If at first you don't succeed, tri, tri again.

See ya at Rivercities. If you need other races before then, there is a tri down here (Opelousas) next weekend, then T-Gator #3 in Lake Charles July 16.

Thanks Amanda....off to get that good coffee and warm up. Of course it's stopped raining now! Oh well! It is part of the experience, huh?

How far is Opelousas from Shreveport? I'll have to look it up. I think I'll do the Jefferson Tri July 16th.
