bell05 - 2012-10-02 6:51 AM After a hard morning of training on a saturday, there is nothing better than pizza and a beer

This is what I live for.  Nothing is better

Amen!

thebigb - 2012-10-02 2:05 PM The bad thing about Pizza is it's entirely too easy to eat way, way too much.  I'm typically pretty good at portion control but put a good pie in front of me and it goes completely out the window.  I turn into the labrador that has a bag of food open on the floor with nobody guarding the gate.  Take my favorite pizza (Grimaldi's) and once I've consumed a whole large pizza I've successfully shoved anywhere from 2000-3500 calories in my pie hole.  It is so good though!

And what part of that is bad?

Sort of a race day tradition, if there's a CiCi's pizza somewhere close by... I eat pizza until my family can't hardly stand it anymore.  It doesn't make me sick or anything, for which I'm glad because I LOVE pizza.

Nothing until I run into having to watch myself to make racing weight...like right now.

I owned a pizza place in So. Cal for 5 years that sponsored all the local kids sports,.  So for five years, I ate pizza EVERYDAY.  Everything was home made so we experimented all the time with everything you could imagine, and some you would never think of.

Lots of vegetarian style, (non meat eater here)

peanut butter and jelly

ham and scrambled egg

apple pie filling and cheddar cheese

ice cream and chocolate sauce

cut into strips and rolled in a cinnamon and sugar mixture (churros style)

and oh yeah, my all time favorite...

COLD PIZZA FOR BREAKFAST

There's a place around here that does a PB&J dessert pizza. I haven't had it, yet, but it seems to be quite popular.

I saw the thread title and thought we were talking about pizza and got really excited.  I then realized that we were just talking about pizza

I have a large cheese pizza the night before every marathon I've done (19). I decided when I turn 80 yrs old, I will have pizza every night for dinner.

Sausage and hot giardiniera peppers from one of the local joints. It makes me happy. Getting better at controling portions but if it is a post long workout meal, look out.

I do not maintain a lifestyle that gives me an 7000 calorie daily calorie budget so I can do something silly like avoid pizza. Pizza is awesome...definitely a power food for me.
