  • 03m 56s
Comments:

long run up the beach to transition - because it was cold i took extra time to dry - put on a dry shirt and put on dry socks
What would you do differently?:

nothing - it was cold and i did not want to do the ride wet
Bike
  • 1h 43m 24s
  • 46.67 kms
  • 27.08 km/hr
Comments:

CRAP bike ride - this will be my focus in the off season - I totally sucked at the bike!!!
My drive chain rattled agains my gear thw WHOLE way and I did not know how to fix it - i was going so slow at one point i hopped off to see if my brake pads were rubbing on the rims!! - but they weren't!
i found it hard going and my legs did not seem to want to move - felt like lead! it was cold!
What would you do differently?:

train more undulating conditions
Transition 2
  • 01m 19s
Comments:

not a bad transition. still cant jump off moving bike
Run
  • 32m 56s
  • 6.76 kms
  • 04m 52s  min/km
Comments:

wore my HR monitor for the first time in a race and it was distracting - i held back because I was scared of blowing up - i know i could have run faster but i didnt - think i'll keep the monitor for training only from now on.
it was hard to breathe at some points
Post race
Warm down:

eating

What limited your ability to perform faster:

more training on the bike needs to happen if i want to improve for next season
the cold
bike mechanics and old bike

Event comments:

i enjoyed it - the race organisers had actual trophies for the place getters and the finishers medal is really cool - i loved the venue and would do it again!
