Regular 68 | Subject: What races are on your wish list (in Texas)? What races are on your Texas Triathlon Wish List? I loved the Toyota US Open this year and would like to do that one again. Also would love to do the Danskin in Austin. What all are on your wish lists for next year? |

Buffalo Springs 70.3 TriRock in Austin (this was a really great event this year....really well put together and you could actually see in the water....novel idea) Considering the CapTexTri, but it is pretty much the same course as the TriRock The playtri events are usually pretty consistent as well sprinkled throughout the summer. Anybody have a review on the Waco Olympic distance? |

I also enjoy the Cooper Sprint Triathlons because of the nice venue (outdoor 50m pool and nice bike/run course) in July for the summer version and probably Sept for the fall version. |

Dwight has a good list. Marble Falls and Kerrville definitely, along with the Enchanted Rock and Blue Norther Du's. Kemah might get me out of the hill country for a race. Maybe Galveston 70.3 as well. |

Veteran 312 Austin | Subject: RE: What races are on your wish list (in Texas)? Last year I had some injuries. This coming year I am feeling good. I will be going to Houston for Kemah and Corus for the Republic Tri. I want to get out of Central Texas one more time. What are the good Tri's up North or West Texas. I hear the Buffalo one is hard. I want an Olympic distance. Any recomendations are welcome. Small or large. Captex and Austin Tri are huge events plus I think Kemah is large. A smaller venue that is unique is good. I would consider La or OK. My plan for 2013

Racing the T-Rex course this year. I've heard the hills are brutal, especially the infamous Kruegar Canyon Hill |

Extreme Veteran 387 Houston, TX | Subject: RE: What races are on your wish list (in Texas)? Put Kemah, Bridgeland, & Houston on your calendars in 2013. We would love to have you all come down. What do we have to do to get more of the Austin and Dallas crowds to come down for Onurmark races (Kemah, Bridgeland, Houston)? We are selling out far in advance but we'd like to alter our demographic a bit this year and pull in more out-of-town business. Our swag bags in 2013 will be second to none (rival River Cities) and we have some of the most safe, fun, unique courses in Texas. We have a loyal following in the Houston areas but we'd like to see a bigger crowd from Austin and Dallas. I know everyone up there (or a lot of you at least) are getting our promo emails throughout the year : ) What is stopping you from coming down and racing (if you're not)? We are always looking for ways to have out-of-towners that have never done one of our races come down and give it a go and we appreciate your feedback on this. Thanks guys! |

The little gym I swim in even has a Sprint. To me thats like 5k, not many people that I know travel for a 5k they just find something local. Thats just my 2cents. Kemah looks to be an awesome race though! Jason |

Kemah is an awesome race. I would travel from just about anywhere within 5 hours of Houston for that race. Wish I could work it in this year especially given the insane amount of goodies being provided.
So in re: Fmode's post I know several triathletes that won't do ocean swims. What's up with that? I have a buddy looking to put together a relay team for 70.3 Galveston and he's had a dozen or so folks tell him no based on the swim, and yes I know that Offat's (sp?) Bayou isn't technically the ocean. |

Veteran 200 Houston, TX | Subject: RE: What races are on your wish list (in Texas)? I swam the Offat's for 5150... It more salty than the ocean IMO. I was hacking for half the bike. Some triathletes aren't cut out for adverse conditions. Heaven forbid if the wind is blowing, or worse, there's WAVES???! Edited by Fmode11 2012-11-09 4:15 PM |

Veteran 312 Austin | Subject: RE: What races are on your wish list (in Texas)? Onurleft, I am coming to Kemah because I have heard excellent things about this event and a few other Tri's in Houston. In my opinion it is why most people out of Central Texas go to events in your area. In Central Texas most of the Tri's I do are also top notch. After a Tri if I have a smile on my face and I feel like I played hard in an athletic event I know it was a well done event. No real answer for you. I have heard all positive feedback about Kemah and your other races. Just keep putting out a good product. The icebaths your company provided at Captex was heaven. I blocked this out of my mind and the above was said without this awesome prejudice. |
