I drank too much before the race and could hear my tummy sloshing around. It was a cold morning, and I decided to take off my jacket and sunglasses before the start. I was quite cold for the first mile or so. I could hear a heavy breather close behind me. I never turned to look but sometimes I felt like I was gaining and sometimes losing. It sounded like a big guy right behind me, but it kept me pushing hard throughout the race. It turned out to be a 59-year old woman - my main competition!

The results are a little confusing. There were 8 women in my age category but the results do not differentiate between walkers and runners. I estimate that about half of the women in my age category were walkers. The ones who had finish times near an hour, I know were walkers. But not sure of the woman with a time of 38 minutes. Run/Walk?
