Comments: Nice run. I had zero expectations as I've stopped running shorter races this year. However, I knew I could PR as my last 10k was last November and I have improved alot since that time. I was hoping for a time in the 45 range and thought I could go sub 45 if I pushed a little. My goal was to go out around 7's and hold it. My first mile was sub 7. Not that I've ever tried before, but that was my first ever official sub 7 mile. The rest of the race was a pretty comfortable pace and I didn't have any problems holding the low 7's. I don't think I could have gone any faster. As this was a small race, once the field was sorted out, there wasn't much passing by anyone. Coming towards the finish I wanted to sprint, but a small boy doing the 5k was in front of me, so I slowed up and let him have the finish chute to himself. All in all good race - a PR by over 3 1/2 minutes. What would you do differently?: Nothing - a PR. Post race
Warm down: No warm down as I had to get to work. I missed the awards ceremony which was too bad as I finished 2nd in my AG. You gotta love small races! Event comments: Nice little 10k and 5k race for a great charity. The fact that it is close to my house helps. :) The volunteers were great too! Last updated: 2006-06-20 12:00 AM

I decided to run this race as it was for my favorite charity and I could walk to the start. So I got up about an hour before the start got ready and walked over to the start. I chatted with some friends for a couple of minutes and situated myself near the front of the pack as it was a small race.
