Just today I was asked to do the bike leg with a couple older fellows I swim with.  I'm really keen to do it - especially being the first year for Challenge but I'm not sure I'm ready to do the 180K, Richter and Yellow Lake.  I am still pretty slow and a downhill Kamikaze coward.

I'm planning to do some bike trainer work with a coach and if all goes well I'll be there too.

If I don't do the relay I'll be in the registration tent Wed/Thurs/Fri, bike lot Saturday and Sunday and at the finish line catching finishers in the evening.

The bike leg isn't too bad.  Richter pass sounds worse than it is, and yellow lake only sucks cause it's the length shortly after richter and the rollers.

This last summer I went from zero to doing the imc course multiple times, with the time you've got it should be no problem :D

Every time I do this race I plan on going out at least once to ride the course, and well life seems to get in the way and I don't get out there.  So I guess I'll try again and see what happens :P

I'm in Victoria, so it's a lot to ask the family to go to Penticton twice.  It's pretty hilly around here so the bike training is good and challenging!

Ah, wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the Ferry ride and all!!

Hill work is great of course, but there is a definite mental advantage when you know the course :p

Just a bump to this thread to say I have confirmed a full team for the relay and we'll be registering soon.

I am doing the bike portion as I said earlier and I am riding 3 days a week to try and get stronger.  One of our group is also planning to do the Osoyoos Desert HalfIM in July as well so as soon as the weather is warm enough we'll be hitting Richter and Yellow Lake.

Last year at IMC I volunteered in the bike lot and at the finish line on race day.  I was seriously thinking I'd like to get off the bike after my ride and then go work at the finish line the rest of the day.  Am I crazy? and, would they let me?
