My friend and I have/had a running game of who could eat the grossest thing. We are tied in each other's opinion.

Me - We found a quizno's meatball sub on the street and I took a big bite with a meatball out of it. The troubling part was the mystery as to why the sub was left and why there was already a bite taken out of it.

My friend - 1 shot of fryer grease at the end of his shift at a bar, with the crispy crumbles that float around the fryer.

I did have a chance to be the all time winner when a bird poo'd on my face and I wiped it off with my finger. I gave it 3 seconds of thought before I cleaned it off.

I did unintentionally ingest a little bit of dog poo when I was weed-whacking the backyard. The trimmer found the turd and it sprayed across my face.

Shrooms;  If you knew where they grew!
Beef tongue;  It's a Jewish thing.  The concept is gross, the meat is DELICIOUS!  Like corned beef.
Chitlins;  Once.  NEVER AGAIN!
South Korean raw eel;  wasn't too bad once you got past the texture.
Scorpions on a stick in Hong Kong;  Crunchy and actually not that bad!
Head Cheese;  look it up.  First-World-deli-disgusting.  The scorpions were better!
Raw oysters;  Gross in any country at any time!
And there was once this waitress in Toledo...  Oh!  Never mind that.

This didn't involve you, another girl, and a cup by any chance ?

Some of our diet staples would make you Yankee folk go "Eeww!" At least until you tasted it.

Read this the first time and thought Yanti and another girl...so hot. Re-read it and saw you included a cup. I'd still watch.

While I was living in alaska, a native friend of mine invited me over for a "traditional family dinner." When I showed up his mother and grandmother were in the kitchen preparing the meal. He warned me that I didn't have to eat anything that was put in front of me, nobody would be offended. However, he didn't tell me that I would be harassed by the family if I did. So.. that night on the menu...

Muktuk - Google it.

Stink Flipper - paw of a bearded seal buried in the tundra and later retrieved and eaten

Salmon Stink Heads - Take a 5 gallon bucket full of salmon heads, let it sit in the sun and ferment, then eat.

Akutaq for desert - again google it.

My BFF was visiting Ecuador .  At a restaurant, she asked for a local favorite just to be adventurous.

They brought her a whole roasted guinea pig.   She ate it.

I ate some really weird stuff in Shanghai, hina. We were there for a science conference and one of the women in my group had been born there and took us to local places out in the countryside.

Not sure it was the grossest, but it was the funniest. We had these prawns and their heads would pop when you picked them up. First night we got there, jetlagged and drinking that plum wine that is basically rocket fuel, and dealing with exploding prawn heads laughing our butts off. They they started bringing out live animals for inspection before they got cooked.

Somebody else's booger!Yell  Let me explain.  30 years ago, I was at a Mexican restaurant, it was dark, and I was in the middle of my meal (enchiladas, RICE, and beans).  I looked down at my hand and saw something on my hand.  I thought I dropped a piece of rice, so I picked it up and ate it.  Much to my surprise and disgust, it wasn't a dropped piece of rice, it was a booger!!!!  I then remembered, prior to putting the rice/booger in my mouth, I had crossed my leg, with my hand sitting on my leg, and I bumped my hand on the under side of the table.  Someone must have wiped their booger on the underside of the table and it ended up on my hand when I bumped the underside of the table.

In Bulgaria... cow tongue and sheep stomach soup as the appetizer.  When the main course came, we just didn't ask what the mystery meat on the plate was.

Hong Kong... chicken feet, frog's legs, snake blood, chocolate covered crickets and cockroaches.

Various other things... cow heart, traditional haggis (though surprisingly this was quite tasty), and fish eyes.

When at a BBQ with my (then) 1.5 month old daughter (who I was holding), after picking up my burger from the grill, I walked over to the condiments station and started to prepare said burger. I noticed that I had some grainy mustard on my hand, so I licked it off to immediately realize my daughter had a diaper blowout and indeed - that was NOT mustard.

Dog (inadvertently; free dish given to us by a Korean restaurant we frequented in China), fish eyeballls, pig ears, chicken butt, stinky tofu, durian, sea cucumber......the list goes on. In my recollection, the pig ears were the most disgusting. I had to eat them to be polite and my hosts kept serving them and I got incredibly sick to my stomach afterwards!

I ate scorpion once in China but broke out in hives and my throat started swelling up, so figure I'm excused from ever eating them again. I've always had a "try anything once" policy but am actually kind of picky eater and a lot of things were eaten exactly once!  I draw the line at the duck eggs with embryos in them that are popular in Vietnam. In recent years after a few too many cases of food poisoning, I've lost the urge for culinary adventure and tend to plead vegetarianism or being Muslim or Jewish (actually, I'm neither) and stick to my boring diet of mainly fish, tofu, eggs, rice, noodles, veggies, fruit, nuts, yogurt, and coffee.
