The race was purchased by the Competitor Group and just keeps getting more expensive.

The Philadelphia Insurance Triathlon is now TriRock Philadelphia, owned and managed by Competitor Group, to be held June 22-23, 2013.

Like all TriRock Triathlon Series events, participants will be treated to a finisher's medal, technical t-shirt, red carpet finish, post-race breakfast and, NEW this year, a beer garden and post-race concert. Same course atleast? I wanted to do that race one year but not sure if I will do it now that its a TriRock event. Luckily for me, I did Nations this year before it became a Tri-Rock race. I am not knocking them by any means but I think that race was doing fine as it was and not sure why they sold???

Ouch!  I'm not usually one to complain about costs in this sport, but those prices are a bit salty!

I haven't done Philly since 2010, and I don't think I'm in a hurry to go back now.

That's more for the oly than Musselman charges for a HIM.

Isnt't that about the price it was before? I remember looking it up for 2012 and thinking "wow these are like trirock prices."

I hope they put out the full 2013 schedule soon so I can see if they moved Annapolis to a Sunday like they seemed to imply was possible on facebook. Since the philly race traditionally opened for registration on the 1st of november, they have this announced already, like nations for 2013.

It is pricey, but if venue is worth it, go for it. And TriRock usually means Ann Wessling at the finish, and that's a premium totally worth it.

Philly Tri was expensive before, not sure how these prices compare. 

Interesting how Philadelphia Insurance is changing this as well as Pocono HIM no longer being an Ironman event.

Was going to do Philly Tri next year but think ill throw that out the window! Price is uber expensive for an oly and I think the tri rock races take away from actual race experience. Makes it to much of a party. I know some people will disagree but I'll move on to another race. Any Oly suggestions? Already doing Columbia Tri
