Veteran  221 |  Subject: Who's Doing Ragnar del Sol?For my birthday my wife got me a book "Running Until You're 100. I'm excited about running in Ragnar Del Sol for the next 45 years. I have a van too but I'm really looking forward to running this year. Maybe I can get my wife or sister-in-law to drive. Are there any teams out there? |

I'm in, as well as Kim (TRI'n4CUPCAKES)...and I know we can find some enthusiastic BT'ers. I believe that I will have access to a van and a driver as well. Make sure to get your safety vests, blinky lights and cold weather running gear ready - the over night runs were COLD..waiting around for the runners we froze! You know I'm not a fast runner either. So we'll have to try to get a couple of ringers. .... Okay. I just re-read Jasen's post and figured out that Kim's username here is Tri'n4cupcakes. It seems as if thing's are getting more serious, but the more I think about the idea of doing this, the more I like the idea. Veteran 263 Goodyear | Subject: RE: Who's Doing Ragnar del Sol? My sister from Atlanta GA wants to come out and do this years Del Sol. In the past, I have put seven of the Ragnar Teams together. Del sol twice, Washington State, Maryland, Key West, and LA twice. Kind of burned out. It's really fun but that sleep deprivation gets to you. We won't know if we are doing Del Sol until after Christmas. We may want to join a team instead of me being captain (lots of work). Another note: You don't need drivers. We rotate are runners to save space in the vans. For one person to drive the whole course is dangerous. One year there was a team called Test Dummies. They had no vans just road bikes. They made it to the finish line! Tracy What the (BEEP)??? The registration fee is outrageous! It used be $90.00/runner. That is one very expensive race after van rental, gas, food bags, costumes, van decor and hotel. Insane Ragnar. Very disappointed in you. I've been reading a lot of race reports and blogs, but any first-timer tips are appreciated. This is probably a "duh", but bring lots of clothes to change into and some wet wipes, and you won't feel too gross after each run. Be prepared for cold weather at night and hot weather during the day. A small pack/handheld bottle is nice because they don't hand out water on most of the legs. A marathon stick/roller/massager can help with the tightness you will have after your 2nd and 3rd leg. Bring lots of food |

Considering I've never even done a Ragnar race, I'm sure there's a lot more to putting together a team than is dreamed of in my philosophy. Sorry Jasen.
