Overall Rank = 415/838

Age Group Rank = 32/63
Pre-race routine:

I got there very early. Too early, but on the upside, I got a great parking space!
Event warmup:

Ran about 15 minutes, then walked around for about 30 minutes. Did a bit of stretching too.
Run
  • 2h 10m 41s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 09m 59s  min/mile
What would you do differently?:

I didn't train properly - I did my long runs with a friend who runs much slower than me. So I had done the time, but not enough speed work or pace work.
Post race
Warm down:

Hang out.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

taining and weight.

Event comments:

I may sound like an old curmudgeon - but I hate the way that so many women wear headphones. It makes for a boring race when no one is chatting. It was a quiet group of women. I even heard a couple of GPS's giving turn-by-turn directions. Really? You need that when there are a 1000 other women running with you and oodles of volunteers at every turn? Turn off and tune in to your fellow runners!

Hey, nice run! :D

Um, is that really the name of the race?  Could we get some background on that?  Is there one guy that runs???

I agree about the headphones during the race. Every year I run Bolder Boulder which is filled with all sorts of on course entertainment and people still wear their headphones I dont get it seems to me that it takes from the experience. So who is the lucky guy that gets to run with the ladies?

I was researching late fall half marathons for my nephew's fiancee, she thought about this one.  My nephew would have loved to be the one lucky guy thoughWink.  Seriously  GPS with turn by turn directions in a race with volunteers at every intersection saying turn here?  Too funny!

Nice race!

I think they do a lottery system for the one lucky guy.  This year, the guy was a couple of minutes behind me judging by the cheers.  The one lucky guy is treated like a rock star - eveyone wants their picture taken with him. And he gets first place in the Men's division and a big prize!  Too funny!
