So I am trying to get over not getting in to IMF next year and am now OK with doing B2B again and really getting that slow time down. In the past, they have had early registration with a reduced cost. I see a 390$ price but no statement as to a lower cost with early registration. Anybody know anything more? They have really raised the price. Other iron distance races are 350 or so but what is fifty bucks, I guess.

Almost every event that Setup puts on has a discount for early reg. For B2B it has increased by $50/cutoff missed so I imagine they will do that again. Reg opens Nov 12 (I think) so the full details will likely be available at that point. And yeah, whats $50 amongst friends...if you want to save money, IM/triathlon is prob not the best sport to do :-)

You can say that again-pricey sport but it does keep one healthy and that is priceless. I will check back on the 12th-Thanks!

I'll be racing B2B full next year...

It's a great race and one that has jumped into the top 3 of my favs. Good locale, good price, good support, not too crowded, and the course suits my strengths.

I too wanted to race IMFL, but just not in the cards for 2013.

See you there!

I have raced it before and thinking about it next year How was the new finish downtown...I remember trying to run up those two bridges the last time going to the Battleship thinking this sucks...it has to be better right?

I think most folks loved the run change. No bridges that kill your feet at the last mile. Thee is a "loop" you do 4 times that is just a huge test of patience but otherwise a much better run. Transition to the run is inside now with real potties

The finish line improved? my only complaint about my previous B2B was I had to run thru a maze on battleship island with no good viewing area at the finish.

Finish line is definitely better than the old one and you dont have the logistical issues of having to take the water taxi or bus back to town. And you end on a downhill followed by flat, rather than up, down, up, down, flat right at the end.

Never did the old course, but I find no fault in the new finish area.  The finish line is now in front of the courthouse (I think.....maybe a library or something?  Some kind of government building).  Has lots of steps that create a natural viewing area.  Also, about 100-200 yards before the finish line is a bar with an outdoor patio.  That is where the rowdy crowd hangs out! Smile

I didn't do the race in the past, but thought the run was fine. I didn't like the very end, though, where you had to run down the hill to the finish. Man, that was terrible! The end is great, though, and there were tons of festivities and things to do...even for family.

Finish line sounds much better, for those who hadn't run the old course The dark bridges sucked then you had to run thru a maze to a finish line that was not viewer friendly at all.

Yup, the old finish was the only part of my day in 2010 that I thought was a total letdown. The bridges were nasty but part of the "fun" ;-)

I Have decided ....Kenney The Jet wants an Iron distance PR and B2B is home, where I got my long course Baptism....a great race in North Carolina deserves my best effort.

So after my first at B2B 13;30 (just wanted to finish) Year of the awful weather on the bike my second at Ironman Coeur D Alene where the northern Rockies destroyed me on the bike, 13:55....I want a number to brag about. I think I have learned a little, and won't hold back...damn I am pumped typing about it ha ha

Capacity is 800, but this past year it looks as though 550 raced.

I believe the date is set in stone and there is a price increase after Dec 31.  You can go to setupevents dot com for more information.
