Kinda like the travel bugs in Geocaching?

Yup, but much harder to transport from place to place, ha.

Ok, water bottle ordered, when it gets here ill put the log and instructions inside it and try to get things moving.

So, it looks like it is going to be pretty hard to keep this thing going place to place just by s/b/r, so I'm considering opening it up to being transferred by traveling to a race of some sort, whether a tri or run, cycling or swim event. That way the bottle can keep moving even if there aren't people in really close areas. What do you guys think of that? I think it still stays within the spirit of meeting other triathletes, just makes it a bit easier in case someone gets in a pinch. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I'd be willing to handle it in a trek across Minnesota at any point.

Yea, realistically it will take a long time for this to move around a lot of places, but it could keep moving for years (we might need a new forum if it takes off).

I think we should only track travel by S/B/R but allow travel by any means.  Perhaps we always insist on at least a short trip for the actual handoff.... or at least you need to be wearing some sort of spandex.

This is a cool idea.  If it makes it across the border I'm in eastern Ontario and only a few minutes from the NY state border.  How are you plotting the locations.. is there a google app that we can all mark where we are on a map to organize the handoffs?  Yup, we should be able to do that through google and people can place themselves on the map.
