Event comments:

Would've been a blast without injury, might've ranked around #150 out of 239 (total of around 300 with DNF's and folks over cutoff time). But, first tri and picked this one. But, my only true goal was finishing, and I did. Barely. Was still lots of fun. Race staff & volunteers were great!

Wow..tough race...bummer about the bike accident...but so cool you finished and made your goal of finishing!

I'm thinking the next tri you do will seem easy to you after doing an Xterra.

Congrats on finishing a hard first race!

Great job finishing. I think I saw you were you wearing blue? It was a tough race but it was a blast, the trails I ride here are a little more technical so I didn't struggle with that so much just the heat and my own lack of fittness.

Thanks. Yeah, 'twas rough, but so it goes. Leg's on the mend. Hopefully you're right, that the first sprint road tri I do will seem easy after that one.

bbauer (Bob, right? saw you on the results), Do you have some nice trails in China Grove? Charlotte area, right? I didn't practice the technical stuff nearly enough, although there are good trails around here, too (Raleigh). I don't know, you did pretty good for a "lack of fitness!" I was wearing blue shorts, gray shirt. Need to find a photo for BT.
