The trainer is going to be used and stored in my garage, which is separate from the house and has no source of heating. I'm wondering how cold it has to get before it effects the fluid in a Kinetic Road machine?

Thanks

I have CycleOps Fluid 2 and used it in my garage at my previous house (i.e., same as you, no heat) and use it at my new place (basement, no heat again). Although our winters really only get down to 20s-30s and can be fairly mild, I have had no problems whatsoever. At the old place, it did feel like it took a couple minutes before the trainer really felt smooth, and does so here for like 30-40 seconds, but afterwards is fine. And really, in those first beginning moments, I'm not starting/stopping/starting/stopping so it was never an annoyance. Hope this helps.

I'm in Fairfax, so same weather conditions, and I use my CycleOps in the Garage as well... my garage is attached, but not conditioned so it may be a few degrees warmer than stand alone, but in our environment I really don't think you're going to have an issue.

If it gets into the teens, I'd bet it would take a few minutes to warm up but I dare you to touch the cooling fins on the trainer after you've been on it for an hour straight
