Having a very supportive partner really helps the sex drive during long training sessions. Having them encourage you in your goals is more beneficial then your partner resenting you.

Come to find out, all of my training paid off. We conceived our first child during my IM training last month

Congratulations!

It's never high enough as far as the wife is concerned (and remindes me of that fact often).

That's something I can look forward to once my last race is done.  More energy.

I'm 25 and I'll be the first to admit that I have -zero- sex drive. I did my first IM distance race August 2011 and I really haven't been the same since. I thought it might of had something to do with over training so I basically stopped training for 2 months (had a minor knee injury too) and my 'drive' has never come back. I've gone through a ton of blood work test and everything has pretty much been inconclusive. I've got fairly low-T for my age (75-225 mcg?) but there's too many complications with taking synthetic testosterone.

It's now affected other areas of my life but that's another topic of discussion. If-so-facto triathlon destroyed my sex drive

I've read that low fat, especially in diet, lowers sex drive. I have no data or articles to back that up... but I'd be curious to read if any folks have experienced that? Or folks with low sex drive eat low fat diets? Just curious.

I'm vegan (17+ years), and a triathlete, and 35, and I've never experienced any "decline".

Probably depends on who you are married to.  It may be only a distant memory - only the "miracle children" are evidence.

I think my drive has declined a bit, but it was above my wife's drive and is still above my wife's drive.

So no real need to worry.

Seems if she would be interested every time I was thinking about it... we would seem to be bunnies...

Interesting.  I'm 27 and did my first (and likely only) IM recently, but didn't notice a change in sex drive.  I just rarely had free time for such activity due to training.

What was your regimen like?

Correlation does not equal causation.  There are a number of factors, physical, psychological and emotional, that go into sex drive.  If you are truely concerned start by having your testosterone levels checked.

Many of the guys may experience a pick up in sex drive if they shaed fat once they began working out.  I believe that fat in some way inhibits the production of testosterone.  Lose the fat and have more testosterone.

45 and male. Sex drive is fine as it's always been. The issue is after getting up at 4-5 AM by the time the kids go to bed that's all I want to do as well. On the rare occasions we get the house to ourselves in the morning or during the day I'm good to go. If I put the heart rate monitor on the wife would just keep cracking up and we would get nowhere.

I note that in MapMyFitness, there's a category under Log a Workout specifically for "Indoor Sport/Other Activity - Intimacy".

Sadly, there's no option to track ones efforts with the GPS.
