We are lucky enough to have a 70.3 race in our state. This one just happens to be awesome. Rumors are there may even be a 140.6 coming. Read about how awesome it is here. http://twobordens.blogspot.com/2012/10/the-best-676-mile-tri-ever.h... I have heard only good things about the race.  I had planned on running over and volunteering this year, but last second things change that plan.  After a two year hiatus, this will more than likely be my 2013 A race.

RD sent out an email to participants after the race asking for feedback on the idea of a full.  He said he had gotten a lot of unprompted requests that prompted the email.

That's the facts.

Rumor is he needs a bigger turnout for the race to make the leap to the full.

I'm planning on making it my A race for 2013. And it'll be my first half ironman. I just need to nail down the dates!

I'm all about some local races!

just getting started in triathlons, but signed up for this as a stretch goal race to keep me pushing harder and further distances. signed up for most every local (No AL) sprint and Oly to get some experience.  Thankfully this GP half will be at end of season in October and should be wetsuit legal. Looking forward to it.  I understand this course has some decent elevation changes to it. Note to self..."must do hill repeats, must do hill repeats".

Good luck to all,

If you looked at the strava data from my blog, the profile looks spooky, but it's really a flat course on the bike. The run is sporty though. It's still not a hilly course, there are just a few hills to climb. You'll love Goosepond, though. It's a great race.

Good to see a thread for this race. (yeahyeah, im late to the party) Its an awesome one. This is what the sport is about... Smaller sizes, great course, beer drinking afterwards ( and the night before too!!!) Definitely recommend this one.

Borden. Just looked at your blog. Awesome job man and at Florida to. I remember seing you out on the run and then at the awards. I took second in the big boys division, still crushing beers out of the mug!

10-4 about the course. I saw my garmin file when I got back home and thought oh sh+t I cut the course. So I shot Parker an email asking him for a dq. He told me about the snafu, big relief as I felt pretty bad about it. He'll get it fixed this year.

the host hotel was great. No issue with the wife and three young ones. Also plenty of things for them to do while I was out pretending to be a triathlete. You can come and go to the park during the race. There is a playground and the host hotel had a pool. So the kiddos were squared away.

dinner the night before was at a joint called the docks. Good food, cold beer. It's close to transition.

I'm sure the locals have a ton more info, but that's what I got for ya from an out of towner.

I remember seeing a Clyde tossing one back on the podium.  I thought to myself, "this guy is doing it right."
