Run
Comments: We started extremely fast because of a downhill and everyone all pumped up. You make a quick turn though and on the other side of the block have to come back up the hill. People already started to fade and everyone began to settle into their pace. We finished that smaller loop by coming through the town center and you come right by the finish line, the beer garden, and everyone cheering. Very cool and a nice boost. The second loop was similar, but an extra block of down and back up. It really started to hurt on the final climb, but I made a last pass and also started to reel Kevin in a bit. When we made the final turn I was right on his shoulder, but he took off on the final kick. I just tried to hold on and not get passed in the final 100m. My legs felt ok, but my chest was pounding for a solid 5 minutes after the race. It felt like I got punched in the chest. We recovered for a bit and then got to watch the other waves go off before heading into the beer garden for a bit. Fun cheering on K, Shelly, Dina, etc. as they did the run. Really cool event Post race

This is a fund raiser PRR puts on at the Reston Town Center. 1 mile run made up of a small loop and then a larger loop. It is pretty hilly for a mile, but you get to run right through the town center twice which is pretty cool.
Went for a quick warmup run to loosen up. I took an extra pair of shorts so
I only had to be 'nearly naked' for as little time as possible. I ran with Kevin. He wore booty shorts and I had just a speedo on. He didn't have a whole lot more than me, but he runs in that all the time, so he was fairly comfortable. The running wasn't a big issue, but we stood around waiting for the start for 8-10 minutes and that was pretty awkward.
