Pre-race routine:

Some toast and coffee, went with zoot ultra pants, tights, compression shirt, long tech jersey and thicker short shirt on top. Huge mittens and a running toque. Ran in the landreth trainers instead of the kinvaras cause of the cold/ice.

Event warmup:

Not much, forgot to get my water so arrived at the start after the gun was off. Whups - but not too bad to get out of the crowd.

Comments:

First half was pretty good, on pace for a pr 1:28 even in crappy weather, but then the gut rot started. Had to bail to a potty for the first time ever, and it wasn't a quick stop. 5+ bathroom stops after the race as well. Not happy at all.

What would you do differently?:

No super spicy pizza the night before!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Bad pre-race meal choice, bad luck. Happens.

Event comments:

Route is flat(ish), and the after race buffet is the best of the year.
