I think suggesting he stop breathing air might work better...

I'm not into crazy fad diets.  I want to lose the weight in a safe and effective manner.

Seriously, I'm going to do the Four Hour Body diet for a month and see how it works out.  It focuses on lots of protein and green veggies.  Pretty much no carbs, and that includes beer.

I started back training for tri's in August 2012 to get my weight down and I did.  I started running for the Peachtree, and 5K's, around March or April.  By this fall I was maintaining 168 lbs +/-1 lb.  I got back to 169 yesterday morning after hitting 173 from Christmas parties.

Largely I plan to hold that weight.  There's a little more fat that can go, but I also need to add more muscle.  As long as the composition is good, somewhere in the 165-170 range is good.

This year is about staying in a good weight range, picking up my speed and doing longer events.  I'm planning on two HM, one in the winter/spring and another in the fall.  In 2012 I did two sprint tri's.  In 2013 I'll do more and at least one Oly.  Yeah, not far, but I'm doing this more to be in shape than anything else.

Going to start back on the Livestrong logging after Jan 1.

SIGH.

I am up about 3 lbs from the holidays and bottomless pit effect of 50K training.  However, since Doug is not having beer except for his cheat day and we won't have any bread in the house, it should not be too hard to work it off.  I wish that I had been on thecaptin's no sugar plan during the month of December, though, because I would be feeling a lot better now.

Love reading these. Funny how we each deal with this particular challenge. Anyway, I am shooting for the 180s this year! Once I can break the 190 barrier, I am sure it will snowball closer to 180 flat. I raced very well in the low 190s this year after starting the year at 220. If I can keep the watts up and the pounds down, letting the stress reaction in the foot heal up, it could be another decent year for the Slayer.

How are y'all coming along?

195 here post holidays which is the lowest ever for this time of year (and with little to no running my former weight mgmt technique!). 6 lbs to the promised land of the 180s! Back to work and the routine now so letsdothisthing!

I think I've undone most of the holiday damage, logging on myfitnesspal (anyone else use it?) the last few days. I need to make logging my food a habit - if I don't log it, my mind slips into a fantasy world where the crappy calories I'm taking in don't really count.

I lost a little ground over the holidays.  Ate too much and had to take a week off due to injury.  I weighed in at 170.5 this morning.

I have not fallen off the anti-sugar goal, but it has sneaked back in some.  As I up the workout hours, the real challenge will start.

ok, I am back on task too. Need to get to 190 ish race weight. Peaked to 215 over the holidays. Cutting beer, carbs, unhealthy fats and getting back on workout consistency. 212 this morning. running and cycling was so much easier 20# lighter!
