Last time I vowed it was the last time I'd put my legs through that. Who am I kidding? Have to take another shot.

Very much so.  The Oly is tough enough.  To make it a half, well you know the distance.

It is the hardest bike leg I've ever done, two loops of non stop rolling hills and 3-4 long catorgorized climbs per loop. But I have to admit I loved every second of it. Very scenic and great feel to the race! Really glad to see they brought the half back, did it in 2009 last last year they had the Half. Here is my race report.

I never raced the half, but I've done the oly twice.  It's a challenging bike course that requires careful attention to pacing to set up a good run.

Any idea about the bike course?  They are advertising 56 miles, but 2 loops of the oly course (24 miles).  That's 8 miles short by my math.  I am seriously considering it, regardless (but would like to know).

That's just selfish, Jenny.

May seems like it would be a cold swim!  No?  What are guesses on water temp?

I'm guessing high 60's - low 70's.  Here's my RR from this year's oly held on 6/3 where the water was low 70's - http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=444846

My assumption is it will go back to the previous Half Iron course. It was basically the same course with one little additional spur.

I think that's right.  I e-mailed them and they said it wasn't fully updated on the website.  It should be close to the oly course, but not exactly.  I'd prefer the same course, anyway.

I'm in!  I am really glad I don't have to travel far to get a course with hills. This should be a good warmup for IMLP.
