Oly / get away destination -3 hours from Indy?

My first thought was Maumee Bay in Oregon Ohio near Toledo. It shows to be about a 4 to 4 1/2 hour drive from Indy. It's a beautiful state park right on Lake Erie. There are various accomodations from a nice lodge with a pool and restaurants to rustic camping. The race is put on by HFP Racing and they don't have their 2013 schedule up yet but last year it was held June 17. It would be quite a different experience than Chicago because it's small and it's in a quiet setting. You can rent jet skis and such or go for walks along the beach or nature trails. We went for the first time last year after reading Tom Demerly say here on BT that it was one of his favorite Olys. I told my hubby (he doesn't race) that we're going back every yiear. He took me to the new Hollywood Casino (about 12 miles away from the park) after the race for an amazing post race dinner at Final Cut. He's now required to do that each year too. The race itself was well organized but it's a small outfit with inexpensive race fees, so there's no frills. You swim in the park in a small man-made lake adjacent to Lake Erie, bike two loops around the town of Oregon and run on the paved bike/walking path along the Lake. It's a very scenic place to race.

The Pokagon Olympic triathlon is in a nice state park with a lodge and is right about 3 hours from Indy.  The race is fun, with the run on trails, but it is very challenging.  The race is in May and the water is chilly and you would need a wetsuit (I think I've seen one person not wear one).  I've done this race the last 4 years and always enjoyed it.
