Comments: A good ride though not as improved as I'd hoped over my first century. My average speed was 1.1 mph faster than the Sequoia, but the Sequoia had more climbing so it's hard to compare. Very cool and foggy for the first half of the ride. I almost left the arm warmers in the car, but took them at the last minute. Definitely need them all the way to Tunitas Creek. Then, after crossing skyline and descending KMR temps rose to the high '80s. Nothing notable about the ride, pretty standard condidtions for the area. What would you do differently?: Probably would have been better at this point to wait more than 20 days between century rides. My condition is improving, though, so I think that short a time frame won't bother me in a few months. The route was all rides I'd done before, just linked together for a long course - I would prefer to ride a new route so I don't think I'd do another century that covers the roads where I train. Warm down: Picked up t-shirt and went to get a big burrito for lunch. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing specific. Event comments: Confirmed that I should move from spd pedals to ultegras or Looks. Got a really uncomfortable hot spot around 85 miles on my left foot. Last updated: 2006-06-18 12:00 AM
