Subject: Yepoon HIM

I live in central queensland (250km from Rocky) and would like to do the Yepoon HIM next year which would be my first HIM race.  I will be doing the mooloolaba tri in March and the Gold Coast half marathon in July, however since the HIM is in August I will not have access to any pools over the winter, aside from the occasional trip to Rockhampton possibly once a month. 

Swimming is my preferred leg and I wouldn't ususaly have any issue swimming that distance, however am just a little unsure.  Any thoughts or advice?

There is a good thread about the Yeppoon 70.3 slightly further down in this QLD forum. Read that but I think if you're a decent swimmer I think you won't have any problems with the swim in that race. It is usually current assisted and calm as well as being wetsuit legal. Enjoy.
