run 10 minutes or so
bike just a few blocks to check gears and shoes
Swim
  • 14m 52s
  • 820 yards
  • 01m 49s / 100 yards
Comments:

I hate this swim
What would you do differently?:

I should have swam again after Tuesday. My arms were like jello. Bad navigation, too. No excuses, just not very smooth on this swim.
Transition 1
  • 03m 6s
Comments:

rainy and slick made me cautious getting on the bike
Bike
  • 39m 54s
  • 14.29 miles
  • 21.49 mile/hr
Comments:

very crowded bike with a lot of first timers with bad road etiquette. It slowed me down at least twice when I couldn't get around the bikes riding 5 across no matter how loud I called left
What would you do differently?:

not much . I felt good on the bike considering the rain
Transition 2
  • 01m 42s
Comments:

crowded transition
Run
  • 26m 46s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 37s  min/mile
Comments:

i love running in the rain so I was happy and felling great for 3 miles. I got a baaaaad side stitch the last .10 and almost couldn't breathe. I grabbed cytomax instead of water at the last station and drank it before I realized so I'm thinking that's what did it.
What would you do differently?:

I wasn't familiar with my watch features and couldn't accuratley check my splits or I would hve maybe pushed a little harder the second mile but overall I felt great.
Post race
Warm down:

sat around in the rain freezing my ass off until I could get my stuff

What limited your ability to perform faster:

bad swim

Event comments:

too many people for my taste. It's a great first race but waiting an hour to get in the water is nuts.
