Comments: Headed out fast, 7:15 for the first mile, around 7:20 for the next. I wanted to go faster than I normally do to see what would happen outside my comfort zone and with a higher than normal HR. Course was pretty straight forward, few hills. I wanted to break 8 min/mile which I did. I would have loved to get below 23 minutes but that beats my best 5k by almost 2 minutes so I'm good with it. What would you do differently?: Not much. Pace myself a bit better. My HR was high but I told myself I was going to go pretty hard the whole time and see what happened, and I did. Post race

Normal breakfast. Just a 5k run so I wasn't terribly worried.
Stretch, drink some water, couple Gatorade energy gels.
