Pre-race routine:

Rode my mountain bike down to the start line and met up with a bunch of friends. The race is literally in my meighborhood and a route a train on.

Besides a 1.5 mile bike ride, a ran a little bit

Comments:

It's a non-sea level PR - and a surprise as I am training heavy right now. Goal was to break 26 minutes - first mile was really fast up hill.

What would you do differently?:

Run even harder - my HR was really high and I backed off -should have not backed off so much BUT it was a good race

Warm down:

Crossed the line - grabbed some water. Then jogged back up the first hill to find my wife - find her and encouraged her some - then completed another total of 2.1 miles. Needed to get in over 5 on the day. Finished my run, at my bike (finish was not at the start)/ Watched 5k awards then went on to the course to encourage my friends in the half.
