Saw a guy that put a whole new mental image in my head during last years Illinois Marathon down in Champaigne, IL.  I had just finished doing my first running race (10K) and was watching the rest of the finishers coming in for the marathon and 1/2.  A gentleman who was wearing a white cotton wife beater style of shirt came running through the endzone shoot(you finish in Memorial Stadium on the 50yd line) and I had to take a double take because he had chafed his nipples enough to get them bleeding with the lines running all the way down his front past his belly area.  Couldn't get my phone out quick enough to snap a photo but, it was impressive.

Obviously the guy should not have been wearing a cotton wife beater but live and learn I guess.  I have never had any problems with it.  I wear the polyester/micro fiber stuff whenever I run/exercise.  Not just for the nipple benefits but also because I like the feel of it.

"It puts the lotion in the basket!"

TriBoilermaker - 2012-12-11 10:44 AM I like Under Armour compression shirts, no chafing at all. I watch for when they have sales and pick up 2 or 3 when they do. The Heat Gear ones are nice for summer runs.

I'm also a fan of the UA. I wear a UA shirt all the time while running.

Go topless.

This helps keep you cool, reduces drag and weight.

For certain posters it will help get the crowd energized as well.

I've run several marathonss and struggled with this in training and in the race.  the problem for me and any bandage is my sweat nullifies the adhesive, and then I'm bleeding.  It wasn't till I switched to tri from marathoning that I found out about compression clothing.  Tri top is the answer.  No need for bandaids or aquafor.

For me its never run in a new shirt. I wash new shirts 3 or 4 xs. Liquid band-aid for runs over 20 (for me).

a shower after chaffed nipples really lets you know your alive.

3M medical tape. I don't normally have issues with this but after a marathon or two, I noticed things didn't stay dry like they normally do. For my IM, I didn't risk it and used the medical tape before my swim and they stay on throughout the entire race! I had to rip them off in the shower afterwards. I'm sold on it now.

Compression shirts.

Never had this issue if the shirt doesn't move.

X2. I've used everything out there (Body Glide, all kinds of band aids) and this is the cheapest, easiest solution. It costs next to nothing. I keep a roll in my gym bag, tri bag, etc.
