Pre-race routine:

pick up packet on Thursday. Steak, sweet potatoe and asparagus dinner night before race. Breakfast of english muffin yogurt and hot tea.
Event warmup:

Left house at 7:15am, parked in Hopkins garage and jogged with my daughter Courtney to the tent. Got timing chip and headed to porta pot line. Then back to check in backpack. Dynamic stretches and short jog around the parking lot to stay warm. (wore running shorts, running tights, short sleeve shirt and long sleeve shirt, gloves - ears were cold, but warmed up during the run).

Comments:

great day - a little chilly, but not terrible - warmed up during run - only my right hand was freezing. Took my own fuel belt, drank a little at 2.5 - 3 mile mark, but just kept running. Watched my heart rate, tried to keep it in the mid-150's the first couple miles, then just let it go wherever.
