Subject: RE: Compression Tights You can run in them or use them afterward, but while you're running they likely won't have much effect. There are two ideas behind them: one is to stimulate blood flow back to your heart and the other is to purge lactic acid and other baddies that build up from your muscles and lymph nodes. Both of these processes rely on your movement, so if you put them on and then just sit on the couch there's really no point. They do "work" at accomplishing the above goals, but personally I've never noticed much difference between wearing them and not wearing them. For some people they definitely do help. Maybe its mental differences, maybe it's physical, who knows. At this point I use my compression tights as thermal running tights. |
