Wife is healing nicely and slowly getting use of her thumb back. She is yoga deprived and quite cranky (which is a good sign).Plot thickens with my health issues. Went to the endocrinologist today who is less concerned about the thyroid, but noticed some issues with my glucose. Raising concern about type I diabetes, but will have more blood work. I am now a proud user of a glucose monitor.

Joe- Tough year, our prayers are with you. Take care of yourself and your wife.

E- Any idea what's taking so long with the new group? I feel like we are in exile.

Bummer Joe... Try to stick to the Maffetone diet, it is very low in sugar. It also stimulates endocrine balance. I hope things get better.

Hey guys, its been a while, found a few minutes to check back in.  Took me a bit to find the thread.  Hope everyones training is going well.  Ive just started to feel better after a bunch of different leg and knee issues.  Missed a bunch of training but I think Im prepared for my first HM on May 19th.  I dont think I did enough trainig to go sub 1:45 like I had hoped, but I still feel sub 1:50 is doable.  I guess we will see how race day goes.

Also have my first sprint on June 2nd,  did a 750m TT in the pool recently and times at 11:54, well below the 15:30 I was doing it in last year when I did my first sprint.  Also just did a 45k TT on the bike on Tuesday and avged 34km/h.  Thats a huge improvement over last year.  where I was about 30.5km/h for 20k.

OK enough a the boasting, with all the injuries lately its nice to have something to feel positive about.  Hoefully I will have a bit more time to post now that a few things at work have settled back out.

Cheers

Long run today spoiled by rain so I took the dreadmill. Here is a feat I never hope to PR: 15 miles (2+hrs) on the treadmill. Makes the trainer feel easy. Got through it. I am starting to realize that the bad sh$t that has been coming my way as of late is a test of my resolve and opportunity to reinforce to our kids that when you get knocked down, you dust yourself off, lick the wounds and get back up again. Just gotta keep fighting. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.

Ahh, the 15 miler on the treadmill.  I think I did one of those earlier this year.  We should start a club - can't believe there are too many people crazy enough to do 15 miles on the treadmill!  What did you watch?
