So we're have a great 4 days of track racing here over the holidays. Tyler Farrar will be racing in the Pro/Elite Men's category and madison events. He'll also be doing a special event racing a pursuit against our women's pursuit team who won a bronze medal at the London Olympics. It should be exciting, so if you are in the Vancouver area, come check it out.

Superior Glass 4 Day

I'm planning on being out of town on the last 2 days, the 29 & 30th heading to visit a friend in the Interior of BC to do some skiing and snowshoeing. I signed up for some C racing for the first two nights because I really like racing at the track, but since I'm not going to be around for the whole thing I didn't really want to race and train for it. I thought the first two nights would be fun.

As it turns out one of the women who was racing the madison is sick and won't be able to make it. This left her partner in a bind. So now I am doing the first 2 nights of the pro/elite madison with the other partner and another woman (one of the Olympians) who can only make the last 2 nights is racing the last two nights with the partner. Gasp! I've got to make sure that I race hard so I don't put them in a deficit for the last 2 nights. Yikes. Now I've really gotta train between now and next Thursday with Christmas and track closures thrown in.

That's awesome, I'd love to go see that but I'm a little to far away about 600 mi. Good luck in your races.

I want to visit the burnaby velodrome soon, but wouldn't dream of competing in it with a world class athlete like that!

A good friend of mine moved from Delta to Kamloops, so I go visit her often. I was there 4 times in September and October. I brought my road bike twice and my mountain bike twice. Such great mountain biking!

I've been going to Kamloops for the past 3 years over New Year's now. Usually we go to Stake Lake and sometimes Sun Peaks.

Yes, I know! I was thinking about racing, but had just been to Kamloops the weekend before. I think my friend might have won the women's race, maybe the women's B race? Did you race? Have you been on the track?

I was there and did race!!

It was a heck of a lot of fun! :D

I think I was 9th of 24 in the B men's category.  Season was better than expected considering I didn't even start to do much biking this year til the summer season was half over ( recovering from busted femur ) and it was my first season ever in CX

Gotta say, I'll be back next year :D

My team (of 3) came 3rd in the madison, so not bad. There was a wide range of abilities in our madison field and the national team definitely put the hurt on us.

Also, there was a women's omnium. The way that worked is that we all raced in our respective categories, and if you placed in your category, you got points for that, so the woman with the most points won. I tried to register for the B category, but it was full, so I raced with the Cs. I'm kind of in between the Bs and Cs. Anyway, I raced really hard, missed the last 2 of the 4 days and came 2nd overall in the women's omnium. Yay!.

Day 4 Report

Would love to race with you sometime Kim!

Great job, Jen!  Yeah, would love to race with you too... although I don't know how much are schedules overlap being on different coast.  I do quite a bit of traveling, but don't make it out to the West coast too much.

Those of you on the East coast, 1 of the 3 indoor tracks in North America is located 2hrs from Detroit and Buffalo.  Next year an even bigger track will be opening near Toronto.  Well worth the trip in the winter.

It's so exciting. Do you race Robb?

I'm lucky enough to have 4 tracks fairly close to me: Burnaby, Victoria, Marymoore and Alpenrose.

They keep trying to build one around here in DC but I don't think it's ever going to happen.
