Saw a 2012 P2 left over at a local LBS discounted to $1750, and is the size I was looking for.  I know I would need to get on the bike and have them fit me and make sure it is indeed the right size, but my question is what do you all think of the price? would i be able to find something else comparble (other makes/models) that would be a better bike within this range,  am looking at only carbon.

Cheers.

I bought a 2012 P2 last year during cervelo's discount program for $1800.  I think $1800 or $1750 for the 2012 is a very good deal.  The 2012's are better deals than other P2 years as they have nicer aerobars and brake levers (than the 2011's and 2013's).  If the bike fits you you will be happy spending 1750 bucks.  Ebay shopping won;t save much at all on this bike as they tend to sell for around 1800 or slightly more for what i have seen.

cheers

I think $1,750 is a great deal, if it fits.  I thought I was getting a great deal on mine for $2,250

Ditto, $1800 for the 'share the ride' deal last year. It's a great bike at a great price, if it fits. Plus you're getting from the LBS, which beats eBay or CL by a ton.

Yeah,  I thought that was a good price.  just needed the experts to verify it.  Now how to break the news that I "need" a new ride.

Very nice.

The LBS here has some clearance sales on P2s at 2300 or so.

I'd probably be getting fit on one if they were 17.

maybe I am missing something. its a 2012 p2 ultegra, and per what I saw lists at the LBS its $2250. so they are selling it at a 22% off list.  then I just looked online and see some 2012 listing for $2799. Are there different versions or add on's the LBS might put on to increase the price?  or did Cervelo drop the list price sometime throughout the year to move the bikes?

Thanks all.

Cervelo's pricing policy doesn't allow most dealers to show any discount online.  It also prohibits internet  sales/shipping of new bikes. $2800 was list price for 2012.  A shop selling at $1750 is either a shop that moves tons of Cervelo and gets awesome pricing, or a shop that's willing to lose money on a new bike sale.

This will be the true test to see if your S.O. really does love you!!! Good luck because that is a great deal.

I think that's a great price.  I had seriously considered the P2 until I rode the P3.
