Anyone running this race this year?  I just added it to my calendar.  If you are running it, what age group and what is your expected finish time?  Maybe a group of BT'ers can meetup after the race and have lunch.

Personally - I'm in the Male 40-44 age group - 1/2 marathon time = 1:40 to 1:45 (I think, I just ran a 1:44 on a 13.1 mile training run, but have never ran a race this distance).

I'm thinking about it too.  M30-34.  I'd love to run 1:20 or so but don't know if it will happen this year.  I think it sold out last year, so don't delay too long registering.

I will be doing this race in the 45-49 AG and my goal is 1:30. I missed it last year as I waited too long to register and the race sold out. I am trying to get my son to give it a try also.

I am doing this one, F40-44 ag.  I PR'd this a couple of years ago, it is basically in my back yard, I run on the route many times every week.  I would love to PR again, but we shall see...just back to running the past few weeks.  There will be more paved sections this year than before, as they are slowly paving the entire trail.  I would say by March there will be a 1-mile stretch of pavement near both the beginning and the end, and the route is reversed from previous years to make it more interesting (?).  My friend is the RD and they put on really great races.

I'd like to run this race, but I don't think my feet will be healthy enough... It is definitely a better course than Mercer Island...

Thinking about it - it was my first ever half last year and had a great time.  Timewise, I'd like to PR so around 1:53 would be great for me!!

Adding AG for me...M40-44

I just talked to my brother and he is going to train and run this.  He's done a few 5k's over the years but this is huge for him.  I never thought he'd try something like this but I'm excited for him.

I have another half marathon scheduled the weekend before but I think I'll have to do this too.

That's awesome - tell your brother that he will have a rooting section from BT cheering him on - and bring him for the beer afterwords.

Back to back 1/2's - you are either crazy, or a bada**...  I just finished a 1/2 on Monday (PR) and as much as my hamstrings and quads hurt, I wouldn't think about running another this weekend.

Sounds cool, I'm in.  Who knows the layout of the land and can describe a place to meet b4 and recommend a spot for beer after?

Well, we could just meet in the park near the start or in the parking lot.

I second your second part, as I don't know the area all that well either.

I'll check with my brother.  He lives in the area and if there is one thing he knows it's drinking.  He did a St. Pat's Day 5k last year and didn't even finish the race because he saw an interesting pub along the way and could not resist.  You can begin to appreciate my comment about how a half marathon is truly groundbreaking for him.

That is funny as hell.  Tell him if he finishes the 1/2, I will buy his first beer.  (appropriate motivation?)

I am not sure I'll run this, but I do work and live in the area. If you are looking for beer (good beer) I highly recommend going to either Malt and Vine or Black Raven Brewing. Malt and Vine is really just a package liquor store, but with great beer and a small sit down/draft beer area. If you really want to try some great, hard to find beers, I'd suggest that. Black Raven is fantastic local brewer with a real brew pub to sit down at. Only downside to BR is that they do not serve food, although you can get pizza delivered there from near by pizza place.

Otherwise there are several options at Redmond Town Center or near by for just beer and food. Nothing super interesting, but nothing really bad either.

Issaquah has a few good options too but kind of a haul from the start/finish area.

Black Rave with having a pizza delivered (why is pizza so good post race?) sounds good to me.

I've never heard of the Gaslight Bar & Grill.... I'm game for anywhere...whatever the consensus of the group is.

One thing to think about is the fact that the route is in reverse, ending in Issaquah this year.  I would recommend the Issaquah Brewhouse for great beer and yummy food, and they have quite a lot of seating.  If anyone is a Gold's gym member there is a branch close by for a shower if you want (or come as a guest with me).   (There's also a Gold's close to Marymoor if the group chooses the Redmond option).

Other options:  Sammamish is halfway between Redmond and Issy, there are two places there, either the Pine Lake Ale House (sooo good) or Ristorante Simone.  Again, should have ample seating that time of day.

Redmond:  The Black Raven is a good option for sure.  So is Redmond's Bar and Grill, or for a step fancier, there is Pomegranate Cafe (although hours are variable, would need to check closer to the date).  If you head a few miles North to Woodinville there is the Village Winery or Redhook Brewery, both good places for a group.

All of the above towns have plenty of Mexican restaurants, which always suit my needs, as I am a nacho fiend after long workouts.

If I get my act together I can always host something, but I would need permission from the hubby for that...so let's not bank on that quite yet....I still have time to be nice, hee.

This all sounds really great and it sounds like we are all kind of open to whatever. So maybe see what the hubby says and then we will go from there.

If not at your place, personally I LOVE the idea of Black Raven because I have never been to their brewery and love their beer. Plus it's cool we can bring whatever food we would like.
