Comments: Went out WAY WAY too fast. Was trying to take advantage of the downhill. Had major breathing issues at the first turn and realized I had awful pacing. Took the first uphill on the backside of the first loop as hard as I could while still breathing. Came past the start/finish area to start my second (longer) loop. Was having major pain in my throat and lungs and hung on for the short, but painful mile race. What would you do differently?: Not go out insanely fast (for me) and have better pacing. Post race
Warm down: Sat on the curb feeling ill and having throat pain (with Dina and Shelly) . Grabbed some water and hung out in the fenced in beer area waiting for the rest of the waves and then awards. FeXY took first place amongst the teams! What limited your ability to perform faster: Poor pacing at the start. Event comments: This was a fun, but oh so painful, race! Short fast races aren't quite my strength. Was fun to do it though and run through RTC wearing small amounts of FeXY gear. Nice to have teammates to race with and cheering (the volunteers we had). Fastest previous mile was in April 2012 during the Beaver Stadium 5k (7:27) so happy with the :21 PR. Last updated: 2012-11-06 12:00 AM

Registered for the elite women wave which was a sub-7 time.
Me, Shelly and Dina were in the wave together. A bunch of us met at RTC and did a warm up jog around the town center before our wave. Wearing a FeXY sports bra, FeXY speedo and "bad ass" socks around RTC is quite interesting. Weather was amazingly warm for November though.
After our warm up jog, we watched the elite men's wave and then lined up for our start.
