Setting 2013 goals and looking to see what others are planning - So far I will be doing a 1/2 Marathon and Sprint to build up for Syracuse 70.3, but my calendar is wide open after June 23. I put in some popular options but left it open

What are your 2013 endurance goals?

Not so much goals as much as plans, save for maybe the marathon, which I know I can do, but it will be my first. Saving up for my first IM next year, spiritually and physically. I threw Ragnar in ther, it's kinda like a present to myself and my running buddies.

My goals are mostly time based at this point:  sub-5:30 HIM, sub-2:25 oly and sub-1:40 HM.

First Ironman - IM Lake Placid!!  Also my first season doing multiple HIM/IM distances, therefore, stay injury free and avoid overtraining!

The only thing I'm really set on is the Beach to Battleship iron distance race.

Others I'd like to do....

Pleasant Prairie sprint

Madison Open water 3.8km (2.4mile) swim

Swim across America in Chicago

And whatever else I might be able to register for.

My goal is to complete my first Ironman in 2013 (IMMT).

My goal is to improve upon my HIM time in 2012 (6:54 was my time at Rev3 Maine...racing IM Syracuse 70.3 this year).

My goal is to complete all four distances in 2013.

My goal is to stay injury free while improving only my own times and not worrying about others.

My biggest goal...is to have fun.

Shane

*Stay healthy and no more stupid injuries (i.e. tripping over bricks)

*Related to that, stay healthy enough to consistently do some form of run speedwork. Modest goal to do one fartlek or tempo workout per week.

*Get better (faster) at biking. I have a trainer, aerobars, and good bike fit now, and a good endurance base from HIM training so there is no excuse!

*Win some stuff (at least AG) if possible, at least some podiums. (Guess I'll have to enter some small races LOL.)

*Get good at basic bike repairs like changing flats. Not just for race purposes--hoping to do some bike touring in Europe next summer.

Main goal is to finish a HIM! Last year fell short in my only attempt and now I have to make up for it, oh and if I can do it under 5:30 even better

Maxed out at a century ride??

I did a couple doubles last year and I'm wondering what the next endurance cycling goal should be.  A friend did a 24 hour TT, pretty damn awesome.

That's a good one for me to add to my list. If anyone has a good website or book to recommend, let me know.

To work strong through my first off-season of tri's.

My first HIM - San Juan 70.3

Planning to, but not signed up yet - Boulder 70.3

First marathon - Cleveland Marathon

A couple of HM's mixed in throughout the year - I'd like to see if I can throw down a 1:30 HM with proper preparation and rest.

Still need to check off sub-20 5k... missed it by 29 seconds on my last attempt a couple of months ago.

Lastly, I definitely plan on taking vengeance on one particular Oly that kicked my butt this past year (I'm looking at you, Deer Creek)

Beyond that my goals are to stay healthy, no more bike crashes, and to continue getting faster and more fit.

oly tri

First year of my 35+ years that recovery from a major injury is the #1 goal. Triathlons are secondary, but if i'm successful, an oly tri would be great...anything else would be a bonus.
