Not a tri, or a training ride really, but a free race, on gravel in May near Rochester.  There is a fundraiser this Saturday in Mpls for the race if you don't care about the queens/Pack game. Sign up via postcard only.

I am going to do the race and go to the fundraiser. Though if the game is close, I may have to sneak over to the Herkimer...

My postcard went in the mail today, and I like the idea of being a football fan more than actually being a football fan, so I'll be there on Sat. too.

Now, CX or road bike?  Tri bike would just be silly

Since it is mostly all gravel roads, I am going to go with CX bike even though it is a bit heavier.

Great video! I'm sitting on the fence to sign up for this ride. Already have my post card in for the Ragnarok, and will sign up for the Heck of the North.

If you have never done any of the gravel road races before... you should experience this grass roots movement.

No race fee, no t-shirt, all for pride.

That video is great!  I still haven't had the guts to try a century yet, so there's no way I could do this. I am still working on my fear of riding on gravel   Looks epic, though, and what a beautiful setting.

Awesome.  One day I want to do this.  I do a century on my road bike each year.  It's hard, but I finish in about 6 hours.
