Anyone watching this season? I bailed on last season when the toxic twins, Conda and Kim became too much to take. I understand that they mellowed out a little by the end, but the damage had been done for me.

I’m giving it another shot this season. I love that Jillian Michaels is back. I like her a lot, both as a trainer and as a “personality”.

I always watch the first half of the season and then usually lose interest once they become thinner and in better shape.  Maybe I'm a little sick and find humor in seeing people fall off of treadmills and puke from over-exertion.

Either way this season should be interesting with the addition of the "kid ambassadors."  It's a touchy subject and so far it seems like they are doing a good job of handling it delicately.

ETA: and Jillian has always been my favorite character on the show!

UGH. I hated Conda & Kim.

I'm excited for this season. I stopped watching for several years, but I enjoy the trainwreck. I mean, there are worse things on tv. I like them all: Bob, Dolvett & Julian. They each have their strengths.

I like having the kids on there.

I think Jillian could have saved TC (I liked him). Maybe if she hadn't sent what's-her-face home mid-week she would have been the lowest loser.

don't worry, you're not the only one. we have a tradition in my house watching this show and baking cookies.  sick, i know..

the amount of falling down and puking last night was pretty impressive.  i liked TC after he turned into a beast in the last workout.  too bad to see him go.  i would have rather seed the other guy on the white team go, just becuase he seemed to have less heart.

I hadn't watched it in years until last night.  We sat on the couch drinking wine while watching the show and I know I commented more than once on the puking in the first week!

It's awesome that Jillian's back - she's such a b***h, but I love her!

My friend jokes that the original title for the show was going to be “Fat People Crying”, but that it wasn’t humiliating enough, so they changed it to “The Biggest Loser”.

I was sorry (and surprised) to see TC go.

Yeah, last night's elimination kinda stunk...that 5 pound advantage white got was designed for FIVE people...so they got an even bigger bonus with it only applying to FOUR people...and they STILL lost.  Didn't see that one coming.  I was sad for the guy that ended up going home...heck, I was surprised someone still went home...I thought after the person walked out that they would have said at the end of the night something like, "well, no one is going home tonight".  Shame really...hate to see someone that really wants to be there go home despite someone else being a quitter.

Otherwise, I will probably have to watch this again to get all the back stories.  I had my mom/sis/11wk old nephew in the living room and someone was wailing bloody murder because he was hungry...I missed a LOT of dialogue.

Glad to see Jillian back...but I thought one of the reasons she left was because she hated that they only ever showed her "mean" side?  And yet she let them all show her mean side?

My favorite show. I am really bummed that they sent TC packing; I was hoping that the producers would just let them all stay since someone bailed during the week.

As for Jillian - she had me rolling at times. She's so honest with her clients. Bob is my favorite, though - I like his approach a bit better, but Jillian is effective, no doubt. As for Dolvett - I like him, but the more I see him try to do anything sports-related (last night throwing a ball and trying to hit it with a bat) the more I wonder if he ever played sports as a kid.

I forgot it was one.  Do they show it on their web page?

Also, do they still have the "commercials" inserted in the coverage?  When that got so obvious, I had to give up on the show.  IE, how zip lock bags can help you lose weight or the obvious subway commercials.  Blech.

I love Jillian.

I was really surprised to see someone walk out the first week.  I mean I'm sure they all want to walk out... but to be given such an opportunity, and just walk out. Even if your heart isn't in it and you get eliminated... but to walk out in the first week, when everyone else is falling down and puking too... wow.

Shame for TC.. but he has a lot to loose and has a good chance at winning the "at home" prize. I do understand that you do not get that big just eating. It's a sickness,an addiction, and I get it... but he was in that wreck and made the promise to loose weight for his kid and all that... and has been trying to get on he show for 2 years.... so what have you been doing for two years... gaining weight and waiting to get on some show?

It's awesome to see the kids on the show...ya they are not "on the show", but its; really cool to get them involved too.

I'm so stoked this show is back. I, too, could not make it through last season because of all the crazy drama with the contestants. I really disliked them by the end. I have higher hopes for this group.

And I think they finally got the balance of the trainers right with these three.

I was disappointed that TC went home. After that huge, emotional buildup of the story about the wreck and his son - PLUS a walk-off (thank god, she was already on my nerves. Obviously a lot going on with that lady) - they made a mistake in sending him home. I think they should have had an elimination-free week.

I haven't watched for a couple of seasons, but I tuned in now that Jillian's back because now I like all three trainers. Jillian was in good form last night, but I don't blame her - I couldn't believe that chick got on the the show and then just decided to walk. I'd go nuts on her too if that's her attitude!!

I liked how they handled the kids so far. They're all really well spoken and seem to be less whiny than the adults, so it'll be fun to see how they do. I especially liked the 16 yr old - she's got a lot going for her.

I mentioned this same thing to my wife last night.  Maybe he's been busting his butt the past couple of year following fad diets or other types of things that promise big results and just don't work.  I don't think the whole idea of eat less exercise more is that difficult to understand, but maybe some people are so far from that they just don't understand it.  My guess is he hasn't really tried in the past couple of years, but I'll try to give him the benefit of the doubt.  You'd really think that if your weight directly caused one of your kids so much pain that would be a kick in the butt enough to get moving.

Well I try to give him the benefit too... but like most things these days... it just struck me that he was "waiting on his magic bullet". Addicts of all kinds make plenty of promises they don't keep. Do things that defy logic. Can't stop no matter how serious the consequences... I really do get it. He may very well indeed have been trying.. maybe up and down, maybe leveled off... IDK. It just sort of struck me odd. Now if he just wanted to be on TV and maybe win $250K and be popular... well heck I get that.

I think I saw the kid in the white shirt (she's the 16 yr old, right?) at "It's a Wonderful Run 5K" in Seneca Falls, NY in December.  My mom was walking it and my dad and I were waiting for her at the finish and a girl came across wearing a Biggest Loser shirt with a camera crew in tow.

Glad to see this show back and happy that Jillian is back as well! I couldnt believe that girl walked off the show last night, what a waste of an opportunity! I feel bad for someone else who really wanted to be there and fell short because of that girl who walked out.

I think they're kind of foreshadowing TC as the surprise return to the ranch contestant they do...I don't think they'd have spent that much time on him if that's not the case...

Oh, another thing I forgot to mention.  I know puking gets ratings, but REALLY...all that does is set up the average joe to think if he's not puking he's not making progress.  The SAFE and RIGHT way to start an exercise program is a lot more gradual!  I just think it's a bit dangerous/misleading of the show to not talk about the right way to start an exercise program.

I get that just like military boot camp they are trying to break these people down to build them up again...but be careful...you might actually BREAK them!

And...YES!  Tech shirts in the gym!  It's about fracking time!  I was sick of watching them sweat in cotton!

Our house likes to watch most of the time. We turn it off when it gets too drama filled (like last season). A friend of mine posted a BL "workout" yesterday- where you do certain exercises when things happen on the show. I ended up doing a lot of planking with all the crying and yelling going on last night. Laughing

I love the show, but I do admit to watching it on DVR so I can go thru the commercial sections and any drama if it becomes to much to handle.
We have the perverse habit of watching it eating cookies, cupcakes or the like. My daughter tells me that they used to use it as a drinking game when she was at college. Puke=drink, F bomb=drink, crying=drink.....etc.

Seems like less contestants this season, don't they normally have like 10+ per team?

My wife eats ice cream when we watch.  When I look over at her I either get a "don't judge me" or "I was down too many calories for the day".

That's when I lost interest in Biggest Loser.  So far this season everyone seems very likable.  The two girls on the white team are an emotional mess but that is to be expected.  I LOVE Jillian being back.

I wasn't sure how they would handle the kids but it's really good so far.  They are all very likable and how can you not like Bingo?

Sad to see the guy from the white team go last night.   It seems wrong that someone who lost zero can stay and someone who loses 5 in week two goes.  Probably the toughest one I've seen so far.

If the guy that lost zero did the work and his diet was on then Bob needs to figure his out ASAP.
