Pre-race routine:

Breakfast at IHOP: belgain waffle, eggs, 2 cups coffe, 1 cup water

Event warmup:

Nothing. It was a group fundraiser ride, so we basically listened to the order in which we'd ride, and we rolled out.

Total Distance: 152.80miles. Not a whole lot of warming up

Comments:

Went in a 2x2 pace line the whole way. Led by Police Escorts and tailed by Police escorts and the caravan. We only had ourselves to worry about.

Actually took an ipod with 1 earbud to listen to the tunes in case the pace got quiet.

Actually very well prepared for the ride. The pace slowed down in the latter half of the ride due to several riders getting tired and riding in.

Stopped just short of camp at the bridge, went single file and slowly rode in to the cheers of the caravan, family, campers, their family, and others who just stopped.

What would you do differently?:

Nothing.

Post race

Warm down:

Walked around greeting the campers, meeting the families, and dedicating the money to the camp.

We raised a little over $400k for the camp, bringing the total to just over $1M in the years we've been riding.

Finished by eating dinner with the campers and their families. Lots of fun.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The fitness of the group overall. We can only go as fast as the slowest rider.
