Normally I would not write about this but I am really excited about breaking 100 miles running in June. Also, on a side note the majority of my running is focused on pacing for HIM in September and October. My goal is 8 - 830 min range, so I try to pace and train around that area. This morning I was doing my morning 25-30 mile bike ride (at 4am start) when I got a flat for the first time in as long as I can remember. So I timed myself and took just around 4 minutes to change. By this point I was kind of bummed and since I was at the end of my ride loop decided to duck in and put on my running shoes. Started of run and at mile 1 I was at 7:15, my legs felt great so I decided to push myself the remainder of the run (4.2 total). Felt great the whole way and finished 4.2 miles in 28:16, equates to under 7 minutes. I usually run longer distances and it felt great to see that all my base training is paying off.

Sorry about the long note but I just had to let it out.

Yep, it's a good reply to the frequent question 'How do I get faster?'

Answer: Swim/Bike/Run lots.

Congrats and good work!

Jamie, first I have to tease you and tell you to change your avatar. Your post says "I'm really excited" and then I glance over and see this serious face looking back at me! Maybe you can take different pictures of you smiling and frowning and then change the avatar based on the mood of your post!

Seriously, though. You deserve to brag! Those are GREAT achievements! Way to go!

Congrats on the milestone! You should have no problem meeting the 100+ goal in July since you just did it.

And smokin' pace as well! Keep it up!
