Looking into buying a set of wheels for my tri bike, what do you recommend? I am looking at Flo or Rynolds.

I'm very happy with my FLO - I have no experience with the Reynolds.

If you're talking Tri bike, then I'll assume that you're looking for the aerodynamically fastest wheels.  As best the world can tell right now, that leaves you with the new Firecrest Zipps (most expensive, faull carbon), HED Jet 6/9 (moderately priced- aluminum rim/carbon fairing), or FLO 6/9 wheels (least expensive, but you get no 'shop' support behind them).  they all have the new 'wider' profiles.

Actually- if it's race day wheels you're talking about- then get a disc for the rear.  If you'll be using them more regularly, then get a deep rear wheel and add a cover.

the new Mavic wheels with the CRX80 with the rim-strip fairing may also be up there as one of the fastest wheels out there.  not cheap tho.

You also couldn't go wrong with picking up a slightly used Hed H3 for the front for $350-$400 and slapping a $100 wheel cover on the rear.  You do that, and you'll be within seconds of the fastest wheels out there.  Save some money for race day tires and latex tubes, and you've got everything you need to be on the podium.

I'm not up on the new Reynolds- but I'm not sure they have the latest aero profiles that can match the Zipp/HED/FLO wheels.  do they?

Go with FLOs, or get some used HED Jets. Unless you are hard core, having an aluminum braking surface (better braking, cheaper pads, no need to swap pads between training and racing) outweighs the minor weight savings of carbon rims.

you left out ENVE.

Which are more expensive than Firecrests...

PS: I love my ENVE 6.7's and will probably buy a set of 8.9 clinchers when they come out.

OP what's your rider weight? Reynolds have no rider weight limit however I've broken a couple spokes on my strikes and according to my LBS they're pretty notorious for broken spokes. They have internal nipples (not sure how unusual that is) but apparently it makes it a bigger PITA to true and change spokes.

With that said I'm a bigger/stronger rider. I went with HED H3's and will have a disc rear for races. Judging by your choice of Reynolds and FLO I'm assuming your budget is in their ballpark. I got a set of year old H3's for about the same price

I used Reynolds as my race wheels (rentals) for all my races last year. My scientific approach says the flo wheels look and sound better. Get a 60/90 combo with a disc wheel cover.

Two questions: what's yalls opinion on planet x wheels? The price seems too good to be true. You get what you pay for or are these good?

And my second one is: HED3 vs Corima 4-spoke front wheel?

Nothing special except the price. I don't think they are very fast.

The HED3... they two wheels aren't even in the same ballpark.

Boyd wheels

&

November Bicycles

Are both releasing new wheels that have a "similar" shape to FLO, HED & Zipp. I know that November was at A2 yesterday testing their rims. It will be interesting to see the data and price point.

Boyd has released his prices as 1450.00 for a 60/90 carbon clincher I think that there might be a PT option as well.

I went with Flo.  60/90 set for under $1000 shipped.  The price point was perfect for me.  The reviews from others gave me the warm fuzzies that these are solid wheels.  From what I have seen the Flo brothers are very customer focused.  I've had my set for about a month and so far so good.  Sure it's a little heavier.  For me, I just need to drop a couple of pounds.

+1 on used HED Jets.  Used 6's are prob best bang for your buck & durable enough for road riding & training (with C2 AL rim).

you have a lot of choices with not a great deal of advantage/disadvantage regardless of what you choose.  To add another choice...

Typically the same or incredibly similar to the Boyd wheels.  Customer service is excellent.

if budget is a concern, zipp is coming out with a "budget" 60mm clincher:

I'm waiting for more FLO 90's to come in and then ordering  a 60/90 setup.  For less than 1K they seem to be a really well designed and well built wheel and have the same quality as some much more expensive wheels.  They are a little heavier (even a little heavier than SRAM S60/S80 setup) though, so that's one of several reasons I'm going with a 60 front instead of a heavier 90 front.

That sure does look like it's just a pre-firecrest 404 that they're trying to milk for little while longer.

seems like it. Doesn't sound like a good bang for the buck as the price seems Zipp steep. Flo sounds a better option or even Planet-X for the price if the "V-Shape" doesn't scare you away.
