Anyone know if they will be running the race this year?  The website they have makes it seem it is still not a sure thing.

I had a pretty disappointing performance last year and was hoping to try it again.

I haven't heard much about it...I saw the date posted on the website. Maybe check with Trisports in Tempe as they were a major sponsor the past few years.

I just found out a company called Chasing 3 Productions will be putting on the race this year.  Looks like it will be on Saturday, March 2nd for those interested.  Good to see that it will live another year.

It's a week and a couple days away, who's in?  I got a free entry from an awesome club friend so I'm tossing my hat in the ring.  Any thoughts on pacing?

I'm in.

I'd say leave a lot in the tank for the second run. If they use the same run course, the second run is very hilly with lots of short steep climbs- one I think was about 20% grade and that was near the end of the course. I saw a few people with banged up legs/arms from falling so be careful. The race web site says it's 5 miles and the map of the course says 3.7- not sure which is correct. In either case, it isn't easy. I ended up going too hard on the bike last year and had a very difficult time on the run.

The good news is they eliminated the part of the bike course through the park.  I guess there were a lot of complaints about the condition of the chip and seal. The new course should make it a little faster/easier.

See you there.
